MARN ANCC CE Approver

The Massachusetts Association of Registered Nurses, Inc. is accredited as an approver of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center‘s Commission on Accreditation.

As we bring you updates regarding approved providers, it may be helpful to differentiate some of the terms being used.

An accredited approver is an eligible organization credentialed by the American Nurses Credentialing Center after having submitted to an in-depth analysis to determine its capacity to approve quality continuing education over an extended period of time. Eligible organizations include specialty nursing organizations, federal nursing service or a constituent member association of the American Nurses Association.

The accredited approver unit for MARN is the Continuing Education Committee which is composed of volunteer members who donate their time and expertise to carry out the functions of the unit. Supporting the functions of the approver unit is a MARN staff person. Essentially, the approver unit is administratively and operationally responsible for coordinating all aspects of the peer review process it uses to approve continuing nursing education activities or programs submitted by applicant organizations. The peer review process is based upon current ANCC COA criteria.
